Rage

Rage - Mitro

Rage oh so rageful
what ever must possess
to throw out all that ugliness
for someone else to catch
it lingers not upon the air
oh no it does much harm
it lands upon the universe
in universal alarm
rage is never pretty
so why give in
and let it overtake
and stain us with his ugliness
that is a huge mistake

Divine Dance a Tribute to Dogs and Elephants

Dance of The Divine a Tribute For All Dogs and Elephants- Mitro

A band of gypsies came to town
in beautiful colors and  tattered crowns
they filled the town with their  joy and their mirth
and acted quite frankly like they  owned the earth
when in fact indeed they had
rites of ownership always go to the glad
ribbons of pleasure ran through the earth
caught unaware by this treasured birth
they danced and they sang
they honored their dead
ancestral pledges freely they rang
to the dog
to the elephant
to take to the grave
of the honored the humble
the people who gave
so for all of you elephants
and all you dogs too
enjoy this here dance
cause this dance is for you

Suntan

Suntan Suntan -Mitro

I picked and peeled the grapefruit
and inside I found  gold
a golden circle of sunshine
to fill an empty void
it always makes me happy
to know there plenty more
money always brings me  sunshine
when it comes knocking at my door

Got a Mommy Named Salami Who was Almost Called Pastrami

Got a Mommy named Salami
she was almost called Pastrami
it do notta alarm me
it is the way of the world
too many Lindas
way too many Susans
Give  me Salami any day
so if you got a mama named Salama
or a preacher called Kilitzu
don't assume it's a name for a Shih Tzu
just take it in your stride
and try and enjoya the ride.

Drinking Wine on Bourbon Street

Two fat cats sat like totem poles
each too short to see -
rainbow bracelets on their knee
drinking jasmine tea -
what a tack to take with me
it almost worked yeah sure
but then suddenly
what was this
enough to start a war
two brown monkeys beguiling with
I had the take the fifth
it all went down on Bourbon street
except we were drinking wine
who'd of thunk it would matter so much
to yours and mine and thine
a maypole dances gay-ai-ly
perhaps a little drunk
a silver basin sits beside, for those who need a dunk
a  small Japanese boy calls out to me, where then will you dine
entwined and entailing our heart with theirs
and I really did not mind
a cage of books
a jar of cheese
a pretty little maid
sometimes that is all it takes
to place a man in his grave
so I gave up the books
I gave up the cheese
but I could not give up the maid
and now I sit in golden years
and wonder at the stares
I can't believe I ended here
peering at peeling stairs
but still I can't really complain
there is a beautiful breeze
and an old man such as myself, has no one left to please
